A Message from the President

                                                     PRMS PTA Knight

BTSN Presentation
Welcome back to another school year! My name is Karen Shenghit and I am excited to be the new Pond Road Middle School PTA President. The Parent Teacher Association is a non-profit organization designed to help further the academic needs of both the students and staff at Pond Road Middle School. We hope the summer was fun and relaxing and everyone is as excited as we are to return to school.

Our PTA relies on the school community in multiple ways. First, we couldn’t be successful without volunteers. We thank our volunteers who have been or will be working diligently to make this school year a great success.

Second, we need funds. The PTA is a non-profit organization that gives every penny back to the students and school. Each year, we run the Write-A-Check Campaign. This year’s Write-A-Check goal is $10,000. If we meet our goal, we will not run any other fundraising activities. Please consider donating an amount that works for your family. See the attached form for details.

Next, a great way to support the PTA is to become a member. We refer to members as Knights. Membership provides you with many benefits that make joining worthwhile but does not obligate you to volunteer. Membership is on a school year basis so being a Knight last year does not carry forward to this year. So please join the PTA this year to support our school. See the attached form for details.

Did you know you can support the PTA when purchasing from the Amazon website? Next time you shop on Amazon, use this link (Support Pond PTA through Amazon Smile) to set Pond Road Middle School PTA as the charity of your choice. As a result, 0.5% of your purchases will be donated to the PTA. Just remember to always shop at

Finally, keep the Box Tops coming! Check out the attached flyer to see the new and improved way to collect digitally.

On our end, we want to make sure you are informed. This year, we will be offering text notifications with reminders and links to flyers. If you become a Knight, you will be enrolled automatically given you provide your cell phone number. We have also started our own Facebook page to let you know what we are up to! Like us at Pond Road Middle School PTA.

We hope to meet you at the Back to School nights when we will introduce ourselves and give an overview of what we do. We will be there to:

  • answer questions

  • have committee signups for those interested in volunteering

  • show Knights Spiritwear samples and take orders

  • collect Box Tops

  • accept Membership forms and Write-A-Check donations (by check only that night)

We have also attached the Knights Spiritwear flyer if you want to get a jump on ordering any great gear! See the attached form or visit Knights Spiritwear.

We look forward to another wonderful year filled with activities and events that your children will love. We have attached a list of the General Membership meetings for the rest of the year and hope to see you there. We thank you for reading and hope to meet many of you soon.
